Kriste Latouf, visual artist
Kriste's form of expression and passion is predominantly visual art, mainly acrylics on canvas, although she has dabbled in various medium. She enjoys a stylized, abstract or symbolic style, however, her studies in Fine Art and Design provided the skills for technical and realistic skills as well.
Currently, Kriste is working on a Celestial Series, Aurora Borealis Series, and also started a more realistic series depicting the sun's profound effect on our emotional state. She tries to portray what comes from within or what resonates with her. The common denominator, usually, is some form of light and energy.
Her studies in Holistic Health and Reflexology, which opened doors to awareness, enlightenment and growth, have significantly influenced her inspirations.
Kriste moved to Windsor from the Detroit area a few years ago. She loves being in Canada and is grateful for all its gifts, especially the gift of love. It's a new chapter with so many possibilities!
In the states, over many decades, Kriste participated in art shows, taught art in grade school and has done several commissioned works as well. Within the past few years, in Windsor, Kriste participated in Artcite's annual Doin' The Louvre fundraiser shows, WAC's Artist Incognito, Artcite's Summer Art Fest, WAC's Visiting Artist's Program, and she is now a member at the WAC Gallery. Kriste also provides a rotation of artwork for Terra Cotta Gourmet Pizzeria downtown Windsor. She is enjoying the journey with love and gratitude.
